Chameleon Arts consortium
To better serve artists, arts agencies, and youth, Chameleon initiated the Chameleon Arts Consortium: Agencies in Residence in May 2006. The Consortium is a means to form deeper and long-term partnerships with four arts agencies: Stonelion Puppet Theatre (puppetry), Happyfeet Dance (dance), U-Literation (spoken word poetry), Esoke African Drumming (African drumming & dance), Hip Hop Academy (spoken word poetry, murals), Dae Ah Zae Recording (recording), and Lewis Scenic Design (set building and design). Chameleon provides these small arts agencies with studios, technical, administrative and digital/design support. Working together reduces operational expenses for all, creates broader shared audience participation and establishes a unique, interdisciplinary creative community in the urban core. The agencies use Chameleon’s support to further develop their own artistic vision while participating in the Chameleon Youth Arts Internship and Caravan programs.
