Chameleon’s Youth Arts Internship is an arts education and service-learning program designed to teach at-risk youth academic, creative, life and job/entrepreneurial skills through the arts. Chameleon facilitates after-school open studio classes and weekend arts workshops for communities such as the Front Porch Alliance and the Office of Homeless Liaison of Kansas City Kansas. The Internship program is focused on youth ages 12-20 who participate in workshops with professional artist/educators for in-depth arts and academic training and community service. Interns hone their own artistic talents, develop research and academic skills, and gain experience with digital imaging and other graphic arts techniques. Interns also participate in developing the arts workshops for Chameleon’s Arts Caravan, our community outreach component of the internship program that provides arts programs to Kansas City Parks and Recreation community centers, schools and community agencies.
